David Gaszner

David Gaszner conducts litigation and manages disputes for a wide range of clients across various Australian jurisdictions, and has acted as counsel in numerous matters in state Supreme, Federal and High Courts.

David is accredited as a mediator by LEADR and by the Commonwealth Office of the Mediation Advisor. He regularly acts as a mediator in a variety of disputes. He has specialist expertise in franchising, advertising and marketing law, health and biotechnology, information technology and intellectual property.

David has written articles and presented seminars on topics including "Take Smart Steps to Secure Business intelligence - Franchisors need to protect confidential information", "Knowing your legal rights and responsibilities in Franchising", "The Liability of Advertisers, Agencies and Aiders & Abetters", "Directions in Advertising & Marketing: Signposts & Hurdles", "Ambush Marketing" and "Legislative and Policy Framework for Advertising Agencies". He has also been a co-presenter on a range of franchising issues with the ACCC, and he regularly speaks at Australian Institute of Company Directors’ seminars and Franchising Council of Australia conferences.
David is a past President and Honorary life member of the Australian Institute of Management (SA) and current Chair of the Law Council’s National Federal Court Liaison Committee and Federal Magistrates’ Court Liaison Committee. He is also a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
 
He is a member of various competition and consumer law, franchising and intellectual property law organisations, including the Franchising Council of Australia, the Licensing Executive Society (Australia and New Zealand) and the Communications and Media Law Association. David is also registered as a legal adviser with the Advertising Standards Bureau.
