Kathie Sadler
Special Counsel - Brisbane
Kathie has extensive experience advising both private sector and government clients in relation to major projects, information technology, telecommunications, infrastructure, administrative law compliance, governance and commercial transactions.
She also advises on a wide range of commercial law and regulatory matters, including commercial transactions, complex project structuring, intellectual property protection and commercialisation, incorporated and unincorporated joint ventures, privacy, corporate structuring and governance.
Kathie regularly provides strategic advice on the interface between commercial and policy imperatives in commercial transactions, major procurements, probity and the relationships between government entities. She has an interest in regulatory reform and was a member of the Queensland State Government's Red Tape Reduction Taskforce for several years. Kathie is also a member of the Board of Brisbane Green Heart CitySmart Pty Ltd (the Brisbane City Council's sustainability company) and chairs the Board of Mercy Aged Care Services.
Kathie previously spent seven years at Queensland Rail as a Senior Lawyer where she obtained extensive experience in rail and road transport issues and major public sector projects and was a partner in a mid-tier Brisbane legal firm.
She has lectured widely on commercial and administrative law and is a regular lecturer in the Legal Practice Course at Queensland University of Technology.
In addition to holding a Master of Laws, Kathie also has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Queensland.
