Ivan Sest

Ivan is the lead partner in our Victorian WorkSafe team and has 20 years experience in personal injuries and insurance litigation.

Ivan has extensive experience working with WorkSafe and numerous self insurers, including six years as WorkSafe Relationship Partner with his previous firm.  In this role, Ivan was responsible for consistency and quality of his team’s performance in managing serious injury and common law damages claims, as well as implementation of WorkSafe’s protocol and procedures and devising complementary internal procedures and processes to bring full effect to the requirements and spirit of these protocols.  He was responsible for the effective management of the WorkSafe team from both the administrative and legal service delivery perspectives.

Ivan applies a methodical approach to managing his clients’ claims and has been responsible for implementing an internal review process that ensures a strategic and focused approach to litigation for both WorkSafe and his self insured clients.  This provides certainty and consistency for the client both in the quality of advice and desired outcomes.

Ivan has an extensive track record in mentoring and professionally developing lawyers in this jurisdiction, ensuring high technical, client focused standards and values are entrenched in their professional conduct.

He regularly provides training seminars and moot court sessions to insurers, employers and self insurers.
