Kim was admitted to practice in 1993 and focuses on insurance and personal injuries law, with a particular focus on Commonwealth compensation, asbestos litigation, general insurance and reinsurance.  Her philosophy in servicing clients is to provide a balanced perspective of the relevant commercial and legal considerations.  Kim works in partnership with her clients to deliver an early resolution to matters where appropriate, rather than engaging in protracted litigation. She has a keen awareness of financial and reputational risk, as well as model litigant practices through her experience working for various entities including large insurers and high profile Commonwealth government bodies.

Against this background, Kim manages a team of lawyers who all specialise in insurance related areas.  Kim is responsible for volume file allocation amongst members of the team, quality assurance of advice, the meeting of client key performance indicators, client reporting, the professional development of team members, and acting as the key liaison for major insurance clients.

Kim retains day-to-day conduct of major claims, such as those relating to catastrophic injuries or involving major reputational risk, whilst providing hands on supervision and guidance to team members who have the conduct of more standard claims.

Kim obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the University of South Australia. She also holds a Bachelor of Mathematical Science from the University of Adelaide.

She is a member of the National Insurance Lawyers Group, the Personal Injuries Compensation Committee of the Law Council of Australia and the Law Institute of Victoria.  In addition, she is Company Secretary and a Director of the Australian Insurance Law Association and a committee member of the Victorian branch.
